Celebrating Milestones the Twopresents Way – 2nd Birthday and 100 Days Celebration

Even before she turned 2, Ashley’s mom, Amy, noticed her daughter’s excitement for toys was notably short lived – she would play with them a few times and soon lose interest. This prompted Amy to seek out a different way to celebrate Ashley’s 2ndbirthday and her little brother Avery’s 100 days celebration. The siblings’ “Under the Sea” themed party was planned with a view towards giving and getting something more meaningful – through Twopresents.

Using the Twopresents platform, the family asked guests to consider contributing money into a gift/charity fund instead of bringing gifts. Part of the fund was used towards dance classes for Ashley and Kindermusik classes for Avery so the children would get memorable, talent building experiences from their friends instead of toys. The remaining part of the fund was donated to the Children’s Medical Foundation (CMF), a charity that helps newborn babies in rural China.

According to Amy, CMF was chosen specially for its connection to the 100 days celebration. She explained that traditionally it was thought that babies were most vulnerable to illness in the first 100 days of life and many did not survive, so when babies did survive it was celebrated. The family hoped that by supporting CMF, less fortunate babies could be helped to reach their 100 days and beyond. What a meaningful way to celebrate! A big thank you to Ashley and Avery’s wonderful family and friends for giving back.
